American Circuits, Inc.’s compliance statement concerning the European Union’s RoHS Directive
American Circuits, Inc. is in full compliance with the RoHS (Restriction on Hazardous Substances) directive 2002/95/EC, which became effective July 1, 2006. This directive places restrictions on specific hazardous substances (listed below) for use in electrical and electronic equipment.
1. Lead – compliant.
2. Cadmium – compliant.
3. Mercury – compliant.
4. Hexavalent Chromium – compliant
5. Polybrominated Biphenyl {PBB} – compliant
6. Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers {PBDE} – compliant
7. Octa and Penta Bromodiphenyl Ethers – compliant
The directive is specific as to the as to the maximum concentrations of certain banned substances. The following is taken from the RoHS amendment, where a maximum concentration of the banned substances is allowed.
0.1% {1000ppm} by weight in homogeneous materials for Pb, Hg, CrVI, PBB, PBDE, Octa-BDE, Penta-BDE, and of 0.01% {100ppm} for Cadmium. Homogeneous material is described as a unit that cannot be mechanically disjoined into single materials.
